Mr. Ma consulted Didi customer service about this, and the customer service responded that Mr. Ma and the account starting with the mobile phone number 189 were "related accounts", and the other party needed to pay for the order before Mr. Ma could take a taxi.
There are many other passengers who have encountered similar situations. A Jiangxi passenger’s Didi account has an unpaid order from Shenzhen; a Chengdu passenger’s Didi account has a related unpaid order of 98 yuan in Nanjing. In the "Didi unpaid order complaint group" joined by the reporter, more than 60 people encountered the same problem.

Platform response: "Association mechanism" is automatically recognized by the system
In response to such questions, Didi responded that the "association mechanism" is actually the system’s identification that the two accounts belong to the same user. When one of the user’s accounts has an unpaid order, the other account will need to pay for a taxi.
Didi customer service said that there are four situations in which the connection occurs:
First, I have paid for others in my Didi account;
Second, the Didi accounts of both parties have been logged in with the same mobile phone;
Third, my Didi account and other Didi accounts are bound to the same bank card;
Fourth, the newly registered mobile phone number is a mobile phone number that has been cancelled by others. Logging in to Didi with the newly registered mobile phone number will be associated with the original mobile phone number owner.
However, users expressed dissatisfaction with Didi’s reply. Some passengers questioned that the system inexplicably determined that another account belonged to me, but in fact it was a stranger’s account, which was difficult to accept. The reporter carefully read the "Software Use Agreement" and "Personal Information Protection and Privacy Policy" of Didi Chuxing APP, and found no relevant regulations explaining the "association mechanism".
Expert: "Association" without user permission is suspected of infringing consumer rights and interests
Some experts said that the "association mechanism" without the user’s permission is the practice of Didi standing on its own side and improperly linking the payment responsibility. It is an abuse of rights by large enterprises and violates the rights and interests of consumers. Connecting consumers’ accounts does not require consumer consent, but only relies on the reasoning of big data. This seems to be very technical, but in fact it ignores consumers’ right to know and choose.
